The Lakers joined a growing list of NBA franchises that have abandoned over-the-air local telecasts in favor of their games being available exclusively on cable and satellite. The new venture ended long-standing broadcast partnerships with KCAL-TV (channel 9), which (dating back to its days as KHJ-TV) had televised the Lakers' road games since the 1977–78 season and with Fox Sports West (now Bally Sports West), which in all of its incarnations had broadcast the team's home games since the 1985–86 season. The network televises every Laker game not designated for an exclusive broadcast by either ABC, ESPN or TNT. On February 14, 2011, the Lakers and Time Warner Cable signed a $3 billion, 20-year cable television agreement which took effect in the fall of 2012. The channel was officially added to customers with the CHOICE package or higher on the morning of April 8, 2020.

LAL will take their 1-0 record into a Sunday afternoon clash with Charlotte.Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes (2012–2016) D’Moi Hodge aided the effort with 11 points in his starting role, including three of LAL’s 14 triples, with only Swider (5 for 8) hitting more. Sacha Killeya-Jones had some good moments off the bench, finishing with 10 points and three boards to compliment starter Colin Castleton’s 12 points, seven boards and six assists.

Towards that end, LAL forced 20 Warriors turnovers, while committing 13 of their own, a major factor in the win. He’d finish with seven points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.įirst round pick Jalen Hood-Schifino also found ways to contribute, showing his strength at hitting corner shooters with swing passes (three assists), and hounding GSW defensively, as he led the way with four steals to go with nine points and five boards. L.A.’s 40 th overall pick, Maxwell Lewis, looked smooth early in hitting a pair of smooth pull-up jumpers to give the Lakers their first lead late in the first period, while using his length to lodge a steal on the other end amidst the run. His squad responded quickly, with a 19-4 run that produced a 21-17 lead after one.

L.A.’s good overall evening didn’t start that way, as it was the Warriors bursting out to a 13-2 run, before summer league head coach J.D. He helped out the bigs on the glass, and was aggressive defensively, helping limit Warriors guards to a collectively inefficient shooting night. The 20-year-old showed off an improved off-the-dribble game to repeatedly get into GSW’s paint and either draw fouls, finish at the rim, or kick out to shooters. 1 overall pick Victor Wambamyama made his debut in the prior game. Christie did a bit of everything in front of a packed house, as LAL played after No.
